numbered lines pleading paper

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Dec 29, 2008 2:41 pm

I would like to draft pleading on paper that is numbered for each double spaced line. This is what the State Civil courts require. Is that available in A1 Law?

Thank you.

See the sample form pleadings:

10666 A1Law
10667 A1Law

10613 Corel Word Perfect

10625 Microsoft Word Pleading

Michael:

10625 Microsoft Word Pleading comes up, "template form not created".

10613 Corel Word Perfect come up, "data file command not found".

10667 A1Law at A1Law Pleadings2 Overlay File does not work.

10666 A1Law is a work comp pleading. I am trying to draft a civil pleading, for L. A. County Superior Court, Chatsworth Division.

Help!

What would you like to do your pleading with? Do you want to use Word, Word Perfect or A1Law? A1Law is fine for very short 1-3 page pleadings otherwise it's best to use Word or Corel.

I used A1 Law, form 10666. After typing eight lines of text, I end up on line nine. The text lines are 1 and 1/8 more space on the paper then the numbers for the lines of text that are on the left margin. That is not acceptable for my work, because I am drafting a complaint in intervention in a civil case in L. A. Superior Court.

I prefer to draft pleadings in word perfect, because before windows based word processing there was ms dos and I did pleadings in Word Perfect. But your form, Corel Word Perfect, number 10613, comes up as "data file command not found".

Microsoft and your Pleading2 overlay file have the problems I state above in the earlier email.

I used to draft nice pleadings before A1 Law, so I know this is just something I am doing wrong with this system. Is there a way for you, Michael, to remotely make operable my Corel Word Perfect, form number 10613?

Thank you.

We can get any and all methods to work either A1-Law, Word or Corel. Since you wish to do this in Corel Word Perfect let's focus on that. To start, try clicking Tools, System, Configure System Defaults, Forms. Next, click the Corel tab and select Fast Mode #2 for the WP Fast Mode dropdown. Check the box Run The Corel1 macro instead of automation. All other items should be blank.

Let us know if that works and what version of Corel you are using.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike:

I changed the settings in Forms for Corel Word Perfect as you directed. Now, the message is, "The attached document no longer exists." This may mean I do not have Corel Word Perfect installed in the hard drive?

Instead, let us try one of the A1 Law pleadings. You are right; most of our pleadings are just a couple, few pages. Let me know how to configure the form so the text matches the numbers.

Also, I just sent you by snail mail the order approving c&r used at the Oxnqrd Board. Can you get that in forms?

Thanki.

Bob Owens.

Try doing a NEW document now that you have made the changes (rather than trying to pull a document that you attempted to do when you had the old settings) and let me know if it works.

My forms person is working on the order form. Try 10613 if you have Word. All of them should work but the error you are getting should not happen when doing a new form. If you like I can contact you at your convenience to go over this via remote access.
