The Microsoft KB3191898 update is causing Microsoft Office users all kinds of problems. We are not just talking about A1-Law users, but anyone who uses Microsoft Office might have problems with attachments, iCloud and custom Outlook forms.

So, how does this affect A1-Law? Well, the custom A1-Law Email form will not automatically post to case activity. There are two solutions to this problem. The first solution is to simply remove the KB3191898 patch which is what many users are doing. Check with your computer consultant who can advise you best as to whether this is the right course of action for you.

The second method is to configure A1-Law to use to post the standard Outlook Email form to case activity. You can do this as follows: Click Tools, System, Configure System Defaults, General, Email, Microsoft Outlook. Click the dropdown and select Standard with Auto Posting.

Next, select the Outlook Posting tab and check the Copy Over Case Activity checkbox and for the dropdown select Email+Subject.

This will allow you to post Outlook Emails automatically to case activity and keep the KB3191898 installed. Otherwise, you will need to uninstall this patch from Microsoft for the custom Email to post to case activity.
