Dear Michael,

Thanks again for the updates and your support!

We have an issue that needs your help.

Since our office uses A1 for Workers' Compensation, Social Security, and Personal Injury (PI) -

In the Rolodex all new clients have the Party type as "client."

Specifically for PI Cases: After we attach the client to a Rolodex card we change the Type (that case card only) to "plaintiff"

(Most of our A1 PI letters were created to pull the first "plaintiff" from the Parties list)

However, recently when we try to change Type "client" to "plaintiff" we get the following error message:

"Error
First party in the list must be of type CLIENT or APPLICANT"

Is there a way for us to add "plaintiff" as a valid choice for the first party in the list?

Click Tools, System, Configure System Defaults, Rolodex Security and UNCHECK the Primary Party Security checkbox.

Dear Mike,

When I went into the Rolodex Security - The Primary Party Security Checkbox was Unchecked (Guessing by Default). A1 still Did Not allow me to change the 1st Listed Party Type.

I Checked the Box - Saved

Then Unchecked the Box - Saved

Closed out of & Then Re-Opened A1-Law

In a Case Card - Parties List - Tried to change the Type from Client --> Plaintiff

-Same Error Message

"Error
First party in the list must be of type CLIENT or APPLICANT"

-What's the next step I should take?

Click Tools, System, Configure System Defaults, Rolodex Security and check the box "Allow any party's category to be type Client"

That should resolve the problem.
