A problem suddenly appeared on an existing machine today. When clicking on a letter (Word document) in case activity and then clicking on the button to view it, Word comes up on the screen but doesn't bring up the letter. In fact, not all of the choices in the Word tool bar are accessible. In other words, Word doesn't come up all the way.

If I open Word first and then click on the document in A1 to view, it will appear. But if Word is not open on the screen, the document will not appear.

Try going to the Control Panel, Add Remove Programs and then at Microsoft Word where you can Uninstall there will be a Repair/Reinstall option (you might have to click Uninstall to see this option). Select the Repair/Reinstall option.
