Dear Michael and fellow law offices,
I please need to know what are the limitations with the A1 Law Word Processor.
-Can it handle documents over 3 pages in size? 5 pages? larger?
-Does it require your office to use a combination of Word Processing programs?
-What are your biggest issues with the Word Processor?
Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
Michael Lerner

Sure. Probably over 100 pages but usually offices prefer to use either Word or Word Perfect when doing briefs and things like that.
>>Does it require your office to use a combination of Word Processing programs?
Not sure what you mean here. 99.9% of all documents in a law office are most likely standard letters, dictation, etc.
>>What are your biggest issues with the Word Processor?
My biggest issue is that Word Processors tend to "localize" rather than "centralize" an office. Okay, what does that mean? It means that if I write a document in a word processor, I give it a filename, I store it somewhere but who knows where and who knows what it is called. Everything gets cluttered together in various directories and there's no organization. All of the sudden there are all these strange filenames and things just start to fall apart when there are a lot of documents.
Another problem has to do with versions and preferences. I have been in offices where one employee is using Word Perfect for DOS, another is using Microsoft Word 97, another is using Word 2000, another Word Perfect - just one big giant mess. Everyone is "doing their own thing." That's what I mean by things tend to get localized rather than centralized.
It's always best to standardize your letters as much as possible - but most if not almost all of the offices will use the A1-Law word processor for dictation as well.
