Hello - you may need to elaborate on this. But, if I correctly understand you then you mean all cases that were entered into the computer on or before 8/1/2011 and are still open. Next time it happens please Email me so that I may look at this with you and find the problem or if you can reproduce the problem such that the event does not show in case activity but does in saved documents let me know.

Try clicking ShowAll in case activity. Otherwise we can check the deleted log if it happens again. Maybe someone accidentally deleted the event but the documents are still saved in the folder for security reasons.
